my computer support service
I am a self-employed sole trader. Most of the time, I work from home, answering the phone and doing remote desktop work on my client's PCs and servers. The remote desktop control allows me to work very efficiently and allows my clients to see how to solve problems.
From experience I learned that it is most efficient for me to go all out in my "support" service. I am the one who gets paid to understand computers, so my clients and their employees can get on with getting their work done. Also, this means I am generous with my time and hardware replacement service. I will shortly be running an eBay shop with all my surplus hardware.

I'm
Flemish (it's part of Belgium) and moved
to England in
September 1998. I
completed an MSc degree in Aeronautical Vehicle Design at Cranfield
University. I followed that up by starting a PhD degree at the same
university, designing software for aircraft design engineers, during
which I ended up getting sucked in by the dot-com boom.
In summer 2000, I started my self-employed life as the technical man behind Data Services 24/7 Ltd. The limited company slowly dwindled down with the dot-com bust, so in autumn 2003 I took over the support contracts & assets, including the DataServices247 data recovery service website and I still support the original clients and run some data recovery services to this day. The data recovery service makes for a nice fall-back service for those clients who forgot to make a backup...
In spring 2006 I teamed up with Martin White from 1TECH Computer Services. Martin is a self-employed sole trader like myself, and we provide each other with cover during our holidays and emergencies.
